Dr. Justin Kang is a board-certified periodontist and the founder of Sway Dental & Facial Esthetics in Cranford and West Caldwell, NJ. Known for his precision, warmth, and commitment to high-level care, Dr. Kang combines advanced surgical training with a deeply personal approach to patient experience.
He completed his specialty training in Periodontics and a Master of Science at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, after earning his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a Master of Public Health and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. Kang believes better outcomes start with better coordination. He works closely with restorative dentists and referring providers to deliver excellent care, especially in complex cases involving implants, gum surgery, or bone grafting. Every treatment plan is laser-focused on both highly skilled care and the patient’s goals and needs.
Dr. Kang is an early adopter of advanced, science-backed technology. He uses Bio PRF®, a highly concentrated form of platelet-rich fibrin, in nearly every procedure to accelerate healing and enhance results. As one of the first periodontists trained in the Bio PRF Protocol, he also brings a natural, regenerative approach to facial esthetics, including microneedling with PRF, PRF injections, and BioFiller volume restoration.
For surgical procedures, he employs the Fotona LightWalker® laser to treat periodontal disease and peri-implantitis with precision and minimal discomfort. His expertise spans advanced techniques like sinus lifts, the Pinhole Surgical Technique™, and crown lengthening.
Beyond the operatory, Dr. Kang contributes to his field as a Clinical Advisor for Geistlich Biomaterials and a Key Opinion Leader for Sweden & Martina implants. He lectures nationwide on topics such as periodontal regeneration and digital implant workflows and has taught at the Phelps Institute and the Global Dental Implant Academy.
Above all, Dr. Kang is known for creating a calm, supportive environment. Whether managing dental anxiety with customized sedation or checking in after a procedure, he and his team ensure patients feel cared for from start to finish.
When he’s not practicing, Dr. Kang enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his wife Sophia and their two sons, Daniel and Joshua.
